Two Winding Methods
- Scrambled winding:
Used in over 90% of pickups on the market, this method involves winding the coils without a specific pattern, focusing solely on the approximate amount of wire. It can be done manually and does not require advanced technology.
- Multilayer winding:
Used for small-batch and custom pickups, this method involves layering windings with varying densities according to a precise formula. It requires high-precision computerized technology (up to 1-micron accuracy).
